What I know about me

 Where do you stand in your life? What do you believe and affirm? How do you feel about what, where, and how our life has turned out? Let me share a small example of my life. Traveling through life we learn, grow, and gain knowledge.

Life literally has a way of kicking a person’s back side. Yet we can see evidence of God's hand in the midst of our life struggles. Life is kind of like hopping from one rock in a stream or river to another rock doing what we can to make it a crossing . I’ve been to places of darkness and despair, and light and beauty. I often see myself in similarities as Alma the younger who came to a place in life of change for the better (Alma 36:6-22). Through all that I have been through in spite of my own destructiveness God was just an arms length away from the center stage of my life.  Things I know for sure. God is real. The Devil is real as well. The word of God is not read enough. The more we read the scriptures we gain peace and power in our lives. Prayer works! (Enos 1:4-6) Prophets and Apostles are real and literally are alive on this earth. Family is a blessing. I know this and testify to the world in the name of my friend, even Jesus Christ. Amen.

La vida, literalmente, tiene una forma de darnos una patada en el trasero. Sin embargo, podemos ver la evidencia de la mano de Dios en medio de las luchas de nuestra vida. La vida es, en cierto modo, como ir saltando de una roca a otra en medio de un arroyo o río, haciendo todo lo posible para lograr cruzarlo. He estado en lugares de oscuridad y desesperación, así como en lugares de luz y belleza. A menudo me veo reflejado en las similitudes con Alma, el hijo, quien llegó a un punto en su vida en el que experimentó un cambio para mejor (Alma 36:6-22). A través de todo lo que he vivido —y a pesar de mi propia conducta autodestructiva—, Dios se encontraba siempre a solo un brazo de distancia del centro mismo de mi vida. Hay cosas que sé con certeza: Dios es real. El Diablo también es real. La palabra de Dios no se lee lo suficiente; cuanto más leemos las Escrituras, mayor paz y poder obtenemos en nuestras vidas. ¡La oración funciona! (Enós 1:4-6). Los profetas y apóstoles son reales y, literalmente, se encuentran vivos en esta tierra. La familia es una bendición. Sé esto y lo testifico al mundo en el nombre de mi amigo, Jesucristo mismo. Amén.
